Tom Bass Sculpture School
I wanted to be able to create something for the sake of creating it. I didn’t want to be told what to do or to be at the whim of a client decision. This was an attempt at creative therapy and also an attempt to prove to myself that I could create something visual.
I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into. I presumed that most people at the class would be in the same position as myself. Instead, I walked into a class of people who had been sculpting for up to twenty years.
After initially coming into the class with ideas of grandeur and making something that would be a real statement, tell the MAN exactly what I thought about him and become a symbol of hope for the broken, I was told that I would be making one of three already pre-approved pieces for beginners... bugga.
Was it worth it? Totally!
Is the art any good? You tell me.
